She Can Trace Her Name!

Monday, January 18th, 2010

My daughter is surprisingly catching up very fast on her “academics” and therapy.  She’s been continuously on it for two year straight, no summer vacation, no breaks except for National Holidays and breaks, or when she is not feeling well.

Tasha’s teacher and I always talk after every session and he tells me things they did and if she had difficulty or discovered something new about her.  That’s what I like about her school.  He told me that he was surprised today to see my daughter focusing on her “work” especially tracing lines, shapes and letters!  Because of that he gave her homework about tracing her name.

Last night, we did her assignment and it was about tracing her nickname.   I witnessed what the teacher told me she is now more interested doing her work.  She looks at the paper and she mind following the lines despite it turned crooked somehow.  The most important part was she can now focus on doing a certain task!

She used to be unfocused , she don’t mind what she’s doing and her eyes wander around.  Today was different, she was looking! It was still hand-over-hand but she is the one maneuvering the pencil.  She can now control the pencil not to go way too far. For her age and her case this milestone is a breakthrough! Thank God!
